What I work with
Abortion, infant loss, miscarriage and infertility
Experiencing abortion, miscarriage, infant loss, or infertility can bring deep grief, sadness, and feelings of isolation. You may struggle with overwhelming emotions like guilt, anger, or heartbreak, and it can be hard to talk about your pain with others. Therapy offers a confidential, compassionate space to process these feelings, honor your experience, and find ways to grow into these parts of our stories.
A therapist can help you navigate grief, manage difficult emotions, and release any self-blame or guilt you may be carrying. Through support and coping strategies, you can find meaning, rebuild hope, and move forward while still honoring your loss. No matter where you are in your journey, therapy can provide the understanding and care you deserve.
Abuse
Abuse can take many forms—physical, emotional, sexual, or neglect—and its effects can linger long after the abuse has ended. You might struggle with:
- Anxiety, depression, or overwhelming emotions
- Low self-esteem or self-doubt
- Difficulty trusting others
- Relationship challenges
- Flashbacks, nightmares, or trauma responses
These feelings and reactions are completely normal, but they don’t have to control your life. Therapy offers a supportive space to process what you’ve been through and begin moving forward in life with more empowerment.
Anxiety and stress
Anxiety and stress can feel overwhelming, making it hard to relax, focus, or enjoy life. You might experience constant worry, racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, or even physical symptoms like headaches or a tight chest. Therapy provides a holding space to better understand the root of these feelings in your life, learn coping strategies, and regain a sense of control.
Couple, relationship and family issues
Relationships can be challenging, whether you’re struggling with communication, trust, conflict, or feeling disconnected from a partner, friend, or family member. It’s easy to feel stuck, frustrated, or unsure how to fix things. Therapy provides a confidential holding space to explore relationship patterns, express your feelings, and learn healthier ways to connect.
A therapist helps you improve communication, set boundaries, and work through conflicts in a constructive way. Whether you’re navigating a breakup, repairing trust, or strengthening your bond, therapy offers tools to build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. With guidance and support, you can develop deeper connections, feel heard and understood, and create more meaningful relationships in your life.
Depression and low mood
Depression can make everyday life feel exhausting, leaving you stuck in sadness, hopelessness, or emptiness. You may struggle with low energy, trouble sleeping, loss of interest in things you once enjoyed, or feelings of worthlessness. Therapy provides a supportive space to talk about these feelings and find a path toward healing.
A therapist helps you understand the root of your depression, challenge negative thoughts, and develop healthy coping strategies. Through guidance and practical tools, you can rebuild self-worth, regain motivation, and take small steps toward feeling better. With the right support, therapy can help you break free from depression and rediscover hope, joy, and purpose in your life.
Grief and loss
Grief can feel overwhelming, making it hard to cope with everyday life after losing someone you love. You may experience sadness, anger, guilt, or even numbness, and it can be difficult to know how to move forward. Therapy offers a space to process your emotions, express your pain, and find ways to grow into a new phase of life that incorporates the loss.
A therapist helps you navigate the ups and downs of grief, offering tools to manage emotions, honor your loss, and adjust to life’s changes. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, but with support, you can find comfort, strength, and hope. While loss changes you, therapy can help you move forward with love, meaning, and resilience.
Life transitions
Major life transitions—such as family changes, career shifts, or moving to a new country—can bring stress, uncertainty, and emotional ups and downs. Even positive changes can feel overwhelming, leaving you anxious, lost, or struggling to adjust. Therapy provides a supportive space to process these feelings, build coping strategies, and regain a sense of stability.
A therapist helps you manage stress, adapt to new challenges, and develop confidence in navigating change. Whether you’re dealing with homesickness, workplace pressures, or shifting family dynamics, therapy offers guidance and tools to help you adjust with resilience. With the right support, you can embrace change, find balance, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
Neurodiversity
If you are neurodivergent—whether you have autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or another neurological difference—you may face unique challenges in daily life. You might struggle with social interactions, sensory sensitivities, focus, or feeling misunderstood by others. Therapy provides a flexible and supportive space to explore your experiences, embrace your strengths, and develop strategies that work for you.
A therapist can help you navigate challenges like anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, and coping with overwhelm. Through personalized support, you can learn practical tools to manage stress, improve communication, and advocate for your needs. Therapy empowers you to better understand yourself, celebrate your neurodivergence, and build a fulfilling, authentic life.
Self-esteem and self-confidence
Struggling with self-esteem or self-confidence can make you doubt yourself, fear failure, or feel like you’re not good enough. Negative self-talk and past experiences may have shaped how you see yourself, but you don’t have to stay stuck in self-doubt. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore these feelings, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and build a more positive self-image.
A therapist helps you recognize your strengths, develop self-compassion, and learn practical tools to boost confidence in daily life. Through support and guidance, you can replace self-criticism with self-acceptance and start believing in yourself. Therapy empowers you to feel more secure, capable, and worthy of happiness and success.
Sex-related issues
Sexual concerns can be deeply personal and sometimes difficult to talk about, but you don’t have to face them alone. Whether you’re struggling with intimacy, desire, performance anxiety, past trauma, or sexual identity, therapy provides a nonjudgmental space to explore your feelings and experiences. A therapist can help you explore the root of your concerns, break through shame or anxiety, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others.
Through open conversation and practical tools, therapy can improve communication with partners, boost self-confidence, and help you navigate challenges related to sex and intimacy. Everyone’s journey is unique, and therapy empowers you to embrace your sexuality in a way that feels right for you. No matter what you’re facing, support is available to help you build a more confident and satisfying sex life.
Trauma and post-traumatic stress
Trauma can leave lasting emotional wounds, making you feel stuck in fear, anxiety, or distress long after the event has passed. You may struggle with flashbacks, nightmares, difficulty trusting others, or overwhelming emotions that interfere with daily life. Therapy provides a supportive holding space to process your trauma, regain a sense of control, and begin moving forward.
A therapist can help you understand your responses to trauma, develop healthy coping strategies, and gently work through painful memories at your own pace. By carefully working through at the pace that is right for you, you can reduce distress, rebuild confidence, and regain a sense of safety. With the right support, therapy empowers you to find strength and create a fulfilling life beyond trauma.
And more
No therapist is an expert in every issue, but finding the right fit is essential for meaningful progress. If you’re unsure whether we’re a good match, reach out and ask—I’m happy to discuss your needs. If I’m not the best fit, I’ll do my best to connect you with someone who is better suited to support you.
Therapists are trained professionals who provide support, guidance, and tools to help individuals navigate through these challenges in a healthy way. If you’re struggling with any of these issues, seeking therapy can be a beneficial step towards improving your mental health and overall well-being.
How I work
I work as an integrative therapist. That means I am training in a variety of different therapy approaches so that we can use a wide range of tools and perspectives, based on what seems to be most effective for you, personally. We are all unique and will find different things helpful in our own therapy, counseling or coaching process.
As a Transactional Analyst in training, I will tend to focus on the exchanges that occur in the room between us as client and therapist. Tuning into the interactions that emerge in the therapy room can often help us better understand your experience outside of therapy in everyday life.
I will also use techniques from Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Gestalt Therapy approaches as these fit your specific needs and goals.
